Happy Day, Happy Day
Most of you may not appreciate this, but something happened tonight, that made this one Happy Day. My son, Bryce is by far one of the pickiest eaters I know. It really is difficult preparing dinner for him. Once he sees that I'm making something he does not like, or doesn't think he'll like, he goes into freak out mode, you know he starts asking the same questions every time, Is that what we are having? Do I have to eat that? Can I fix something else? It can go on and on, and then he pouts. So to my surprise he mentions last week that he wanted homemade chicken noodle soup. I'm thinking, excuse me? You want that? Where did this come from? I remember the last time I made chicken noodle soup, and he pouted and cried after I made him at least try one bite (which is my rule). I remember him saying is wasn't gross, but he really didn't like it too much. (He knows if he is rude about not liking my food, his dad gets mad) So, I figured if he is asking for it, by darn I'm fixing it! So tonight after conference I start making my chicken noodle soup (which really is good, if I do say so myself) he comes over to the kitchen, and I'm thinking great he'll probably go into freak out mode now. He calmly says "Is this the same as last time?" "Just the same" I reply, "OK I just thought is was thicker before." "Nope exactly the same." I dish up his food, he discards the celery and carrots, but eats everything else all up. He even starts boasting at how good it is and keeps asking dad if he likes it, because he sure does! Like I said, I don't know if any of you will appreciate this, but it is a Happy Day for me when my son will eat something other then his usual. Happy Day, Happy Day!!

I bet it's hard to have little ones that are picky eaters. That's awesome he liked your soup. :) Well, and more awesome that you know how to make that stuff.
