Pumpkins

Every year when the stores are getting ready for Halloween, my kids always ask "When we are going to get some pumpkins?" This year we planted some in our garden. The kids had so much fun picking the pumpkins right out of the garden they planted. Here are a few from our first picking.....we still have more waiting for us.

Here Eryn had climbed up the tree to pick some plums, they are delicious. We have had that plum tree in this back corner of my moms garden forever, and I truely thought this tree had become a lost cause and had stopped producing plums a long time ago, or just very little plums I should say. To our surprise, this tree is loaded! I don't remember picking plums as a little girl, sure we had cherries, apples, sometimes pears, but I don't remember the plums.

Kaitlyn loves her peas! She could live off of peas (but only right out of the pod)if I let her. We thought our peas were done for the season. So imagine her surprise to find a couple she can gobble down. That just made her day!

Planting your own pumpkins is the best I think. We didn't get to this year with the move and all and that is a bummer. Have you tried planting a Giant Pumpkin or two? We've had some huge ones over the years. Jealous of your pumpkin patch :) In a good way.

That's a nice stash of pumkins you got there. Are you going to carve them?
