Funny Story.....

This last weekend we celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary(a week and a half early, but grandma & grandpa were in town, so we took advantage of the free babysitting). Yes, 14!!! That still sounds crazy to me. We went out to dinner....gift certificates are awesome! Stayed at a hotel.....using Marriott Reward Points, again awesome! Went to a movie....movie tickets gifted from Andrea....Sweet! As you can tell, we are trying to cut back our spending. I told Kyle 14 years ago, I didn't want to get married at Christmas time because in the future we'll be using extra money towards Christmas presents, not on our anniversary (I've been right for the past 14 years now, but who's counting)....but like many of you, we had to work our wedding day around Christmas break, finals, and temple openings :)
Anyways back to the story....... before we went into the Cheesecake Factory, we had to visit a jeweler in the mall. Many of you are probably thinking....how sweet he bought me some jewelry for our anniversary.....but no that's not why. We had to visit a jeweler because my husband had to get his ring cut off!!! Yes that's right, on our anniversary he cut off his ring. Funny I know. As we get older, some of us can gain a little weight....it tends to happen. Anyways, Kyle took off the ring a few months ago because it was getting a little tight. He hates not having a ring on, so before we left on Friday, he thought he would try to see if he could fit it on his finger. The ring was going on real smooth until it hit the knuckle and there got stuck and could only go one way....down. His finger started throbbing, and swelling. He was in a bit of pain.
We had a good laugh about all this as a lady spent 15 minutes cutting off his ring. Good way to spend your anniversary, right? It makes for a good story, I guess.
Here are the pictures of his finger and ring right afterwards.

Doesn't that look painful? Poor Kyle.

Poor ring.....good thing we can still re size it.

Oh my goodness I am so glad he didn't have a titanium ring or one of the ones you can't cut off! Hope all is mended and way to go on 14 years and a cheap but sahweet anniversary!
