It's Official!

It's Official, the Christmas Season has begun. Every year on Thanksgiving weekend we head over to Grandma Youngs house to decorate gingerbread houses. It is a fun tradition we have had in our family for as long as I can remember. Decorating takes skill and patience, those of us who have children have resigned to the fact that we will never have a say in how the house turns out, unless we make our own. For Greg and Steph it was fun watching them try to come up with something new and creative this year. Keep looking below to see how far Greg actually went with his decorating this year. We all had a lot of fun, and I think they turned out great.

Here is Kyle and Kaitlyn working together on her house.

Bryce made an awesome roof this year....

I started helping Eryn with hers, but she was doing just fine and I got demoted to photographer.

Jake and Jedd's house (with the help from their mom and from dad, when Andrea would let Neal help, that is)

Stephanie ever so carefully decorating her windows.

Now this is serious business, Greg even got out his tools and was drilling his candy, until it melted the filling which then spewed all over him. It was awesome!

It really is a highlight of the season to decorate these gingerbread houses. Thank you MOM for baking all the molds, buying all the candy and letting us enjoy this tradition. You're the Best!! We had a great time.

How fun and what a great tradition. We keep talking about doing that in our family. Maybe next year I'll head it up. Great ideas you guys had too for different building materials.
